“Leave No One Behind: End Violence against Women and Girls”

By The FLIPsters

It really stinks that it’s 2017 and there is even more need for things like the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. The campaign was instigated by UN Women which aims to raise public awareness and mobilize people everywhere to bring about change. This year’s theme is “Leave No One Behind: End Violence against Women and Girls”.

Orange has been designated the colour for the campaign to symbolize a brighter future without violence.  #OrangeTheWorld

Beginning November 25 with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign still includes: December 1, World AIDS Day; December 6th, National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence against Women in Canada; December 9, International Day of Commemoration and Dignity of the Victims of the Crime of Genocide and of the Prevention of this Crime; and concludes on December 10th with International Human Rights Day.

Let’s step up, citizens of the world. Be aware of what we do and how we treat others. Leave no one behind.
